FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I GET THE BEST POSSIBLE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION?

Your right Jaybird RUN earbud is the master (main) earbud. The right earbud connects to your audio device and to the left earbud.

If you experience audio dropouts, try the following.

  • To minimize audio drop outs, try to reduce the distance between your right earbud and your audio device. For example, try to have your audio device in your right pocket or on your right arm if running with an arm band.
  • While the range of most Bluetooth devices is 10 meters (33 feet), the optimal range for any Bluetooth audio device is about 60 centimeters (2 feet) from the audio source.
  • Some environments, cell phone towers, dense wifi networks, and other transmitting devices can interfere with your Bluetooth connection. If possible, try to move away from the area or devices.
  • Reset your Bluetooth connection by turning your device's Bluetooth off for at least 10 seconds and then back on. Please note, turning Bluetooth off and back on quickly will not reset the connection.
  • Complete a reset of your right earbud which will clear the list of devices that your earbuds are paired to. See How do I reset my RUN earbuds?

HOW DO I CHARGE MY JAYBIRD RUN EARBUDS AND CHARGING CASE?

Charging your Jaybird RUN earbuds

To charge your earbuds, follow the steps below.

  1. Insert your earbuds into the charging case.
  2. Your earbuds will start charging as soon as you place them into the charge case and close the lid. Don’t force the case closed, when the earbuds are inserted correctly, the case will easily click and close.
  3. The left and right LED’s on the charging case will indicate the charging status for about 10 seconds when the case is closed and not plugged into power.
  • Green LED pulses = Charging
  • Green LED solid = Fully charged

A full charge cycle can take up to two hours and will give you 4 hours of playtime. If your earbuds are low on battery and you’re in a hurry, 5 minutes in the charging case will give you about 1 hour of playtime.

The right earbud is expected to lose battery faster than the left as the right controls the connection to the Bluetooth audio device as well as the left earbud. A full charge will still give you 4 hours of playtime.

Charging your Jaybird RUN charging case

To charge your case, follow the steps below.

  1. With the case closed, connect the included micro USB cable to the back of the charging case.
  2. Connect the other end of the micro USB charging cable to a power source
  3. The LED in the middle of the charge case will indicate the charging status of the case:
  • Green LED pulses = Charging
  • Green LED solid = Fully charged

It takes about 3 hours to fully charge the charging case from low battery. A full charge will give your earbuds two full charge cycles, which is an additional 8 hours of playtime.

When your charge case is running low on battery the LED will turn red for about 10 seconds on opening or closing the lid.

Make sure to check the charging source before you begin charging. We recommend using a computer as the safest method – anything 1 amp or less is safe. Some chargers can produce a lot more power than is needed to charge your earbuds, so avoid those if possible.

HOW DO I SET UP AND FIT MY JAYBIRD RUN EARBUDS?

Your Jaybird RUN earbuds have been set up for simplicity. Just take them out of the box, put them in your ears, and go.

Your earbuds come fitted with medium sized round silicone ear tips and size 2 ear fins to give you a secure and comfortable fit.

If you don’t get a secure fit out of the box, try different combinations of ear tips and fins.

To change the ear tips:

  1. Remove the ear tip.
  2. Replace with an alternative ear tip. Small round silicone tips, and small and medium oval silicone tips are provided as alternatives.

Getting the best fit:

  • Your ears may not be the same size, make sure you try different sized ear tips for left and right if needed.
  • Try the small oval silicone tips if you have a small ear canal or if you find the small round silicone tips too big.
  • If using the oval ear-tips, install them on an angle as shown below to align with the natural shape of your ear canal.

To change the ear fins:

  1. Remove the ear fin from the earbud.
  2. Replace the ear fin with an alternative ear fin. Size 1, 3, and 4 fins are provided as alternatives. Left and Right markings can be found on the earbud as well as the inside of each ear fin.
  1. Make sure the ear fin is secured all the way onto the earbud.
  1. The curve of the ear fin should point towards your ear.
  1. Once you’ve installed your preferred ear fins, place your earbuds into each ear and run wild.

Getting the best fit:

  • Your ears may not be the same size, so make sure you try different sized ear fins in each ear if needed.
  • The ear fin should feel secure against the inner bowl of your ear.

Ear fins must be installed when placing Jaybird RUN in the charging case.

Wearing your Jaybird RUN earbuds

Once you have your preferred ear tips and fins, place your RUN buds into each ear and run wild.

Getting the best fit:

  • Your earbuds should feel secure in your ears. If you feel too much pressure anywhere on your ear, try a different ear tip or ear fin.
  • Gently shake your head left to right to make sure your earbuds are secure.
  • Once fitted well, you should notice some isolation from surrounding noise.

HOW DO I ACTIVATE VOICE ASSISTANT?
